Central to all these advancements is the need for resilient time synchronization. This new business area also offers opportunities for master’s thesis work.

Topics:

Investigate an alternative method of link delay estimation in synchronization networks.
A fundamental requirement in 5G synchronization is to reduce the influence of delay variations on the network. Even if data is sent with a high priority through the routers in the network, delay variations can significantly limit the performance of the synchronization. A common solution to this problem is to send many packets and only consider those with minimal delay. This approach is called “lucky packet”, and the idea is to select one packet that reflects the true delay of the network. In this thesis we would like to investigate alternative methods on estimating the link delay. As a large amount of reference data is available, one possible approach is to use ML. 

AI applied to verification and quality assurance domain.
We are interested in optimizing our methods for quality assurance. One possible angle is to apply AI to log analysis to aid fault isolation.

• Basic knowledge of networking technologies
• Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies
• Experience with Linux
• Knowledge in C++, Python or Node.js/Typescript

For these projects, we will emphasize personal fit. We value entrepreneurial and innovative individuals with real passion for technology. 

We welcome 1-2 students per project. Our nice office is located Solna Business Park and you are welcome to work from there, or in a hybrid setup.
