ABOUT THE POSITION
Our Sales Engineering team is seeking a Sales Engineer with a pro-active, customer-oriented approach, to support our media sales in EMEA.
As a Sales Engineer, you will be a key member of the Sales team for our Media products. You will work closely with both the Account Manager and directly with the customers – building strong, trust-based customer relationships. You will provide technical designs, guidance, systems costs, and help develop the business model. You will work with sales colleagues to pitch Net Insight products and solutions to our customers in the DACH and Scandinavian regions. You will be closely supported by a wider community of colleagues as needed – Product management, R&D, Customer Support, Senior colleagues, and peers.
Your key responsibilities in this area will be:
- Discovery of the customer opportunity and engaging the end customer.
- Understand the customer’s unmet needs and identify areas for growth and optimization.
- Define the architectural concepts and gather detailed knowledge required to provide a competitive solution – compliant with the end to end workflow.
- Provide System level designs, costs, and proposals based on Net Insight’s portfolio of hardware and software media solutions, scalable to meet anticipated business needs.
- Deliver compelling presentations to existing and potential customers, promoting the commercial and technical virtues of the solution
- Establishing personal credibility with the customer by providing technical insight into business and network analysis.
- Use and manage customer demonstration systems showcasing Net Insight products – including at trade shows
- Be the voice of the client and provide feedback to product and engineering teams influencing future product and solution roadmaps.
YOUR BACKGROUND

As a person, you actively seek knowledge when required and enjoy being in contact with people, both inside and outside Net Insight.
We believe you have most or all of the following:
- Self-motivation is key, with the ability to work remotely
- Ideally, you’ll have proven Sales Engineering / Pre-Sales experience gained within the Media industry. However, we’re also open to individuals who sit on the engineering side in our industry as an Engineer, or someone in Product Management who wants to utilise their technical expertise in a sales-based setting directly with customers.
- University degree in engineering or field related to products and solutions being sold preferred or equivalent in work experience
- Current knowledge of media encoding and transmission technologies
- Practical knowledge of IP and Ethernet networking, routing, and switching
- Practical knowledge of IT infrastructure, including Linux, bare metal, VMs, Public Cloud (including Kubernetes & Docker)
- Excellent oral and written communications and presentation skills, and comfortable running a demo
- Commercial skills – ability to design and promote solutions based on value
- Keen interest in the media technology industry - and able to connect trends/intel to your work
- Able to work with multiple concurrent opportunities – prioritising based on dialogue
- Being able to speak German would also be advantageous but not essential
